Professional Experience
Prior to joining Legal Origins, Mr. Bratescu was a Managing Principal and General Counsel for Regional Center Fund of America, a USCIS approved and designated EB-5 Regional Center and Chief Editor of EB5Blog.com, a leading blog focused on the EB-5 industry. Mr. Bratescu has invaluable experience in managing all aspects of an EB-5 Regional Center, involving the facilitation of regulatory compliance, preparation of securities documents, including private placement offering documents compliant with Regulation D and Regulation S exemptions under the Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
Furthermore, Mr. Bratescu brings financial regulatory guidance experience obtained while working at the Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), as well as at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). While at FinCEN, and as a result of his assignment to the Office of Regulatory Policy, he obtained working knowledge of regulations impacting mutual funds, investment advisors, registered investment companies, commodity trading advisors, commodity pool operators, and futures commission merchants. At the SEC, he was assigned to the Trading and Markets division and was presented with assignments focused on reviewing and analyzing proposals for various rules and regulations impacting broker-dealers, clearing agencies, and security-based swap data repositories.
